(BIRMINGHAM, AL) - The 16th-ranked Butler Bulldogs could not overcome a pair of cold shooting spells as they fell to the streaking Alabama-Birmingham Blazers 67-57 in Birmingham.
UAB led by as many as 16 points before the Bulldogs used a 20-6 run to cut the deficit to two at 57-55 with 4:02 remaining.
Butler failed to score on its next six possessions as the Blazers closed out the game on a 10-2 run to get the victory.
Jamarr Sanders led UAB with 18 points as the Blazers have won ten in a row to improve to 11-1 on the season.
Gordon Hayward led Butler with twelve points and 15 rebounds as the Bulldogs fall to 8-4.
They are off until New Year's Eve when they take on Green Bay in a Horizon League game at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
