(MIAMI, FL) - The Indianapolis Colts arrived in south Florida Monday to begin their finishing touches in preparation of Super Bowl Forty-Four.
Colts Defensive End Dwight Freeney is still battling a torn ligament in his right ankle that will make it tough for him to play against the Saints on Sunday.
The Colts still maintain that Freeney has a low ankle sprain and remains questionable for the game.
The pro-bowler has been receiving treatment in Florida for his injury since Friday of last week. Medically, the injury is being diagnosed as a third degree, low basketball sprain which involves a complete tear of an ankle ligament.
To help speed up the healing process, Freeney has been using a hyperbaric chamber, which he has used in the past to help him come back from injuries sooner than expected.
He is also using a device called ARP that is similar to stem device to move blood supply to his injured ankle.
Freeney's ankle very swollen, and the torn ligament is on the outside of this right ankle making it difficult for him to pivot.
Freeney will continue undergoing treatment leading up to Sunday with the hopes of playing, but Head Coach Jim Caldwell said the team is working on a rotation that would be used if Freeney doesn't play.
Freeney is tied for third in the league this season with 13 and a half sacks.
