(SOUTH BEND, IN) - The Fighting Irish of Notre Dame snapped their three-game losing streak in impressive fashion, bouncing 16th-ranked Pittsburgh 68-53 at Purcell Pavilion at The Joyce Center.
Tim Abromaitis led a balanced Notre Dame attack with 17 points as the Irish played once again without Luke Harangody, who is sidelined by a knee injury.
Ben Hansbrough finished with 15 points, Tory Jackson scored 14 and Tyrone Nash added 13 as Notre Dame improves to 18-10, 7-8 in the Big East.
Ashton Gibbs scored 14 points to lead Pitt with Jermaine Dixon adding 13 as the Panthers saw their five-game winning streak come to an end.
Pitt falls to 21-7, 10-5 in the conference. Notre Dame is at Georgetown on Saturday afternoon.
