(SOUTH BEND, IN) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish dropped a 69-68 decision to the St Johns Red Storm Sunday night in South Bend.
The game was tightly contested for most of the contest, and the lead changed hands three times in the final minute.
But D.J. Kennedy made a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left to give St John's their second straight win.
Notre Dame played without their leading scorer senior Luke Harangody.
Harangody had to leave Notre Dame's game last Thursday with an injury to his right knee.
In his place, Tim Abromaitis led the Irish in scoring with 24 points.
Tyrone Nash and Ben Hansbrough finished out the game with 16 and 13 points respectively.
Justin Brownlee came off the bench to lead the Red Storm in scoring.
Notre Dame now falls to 17-9 on the season and 6-7 in Big East play.
