(VALPARAISO, IN) - Brandon Wood and Ryan Broekhoff scored 18 points apiece as the Valparaiso Crusaders defeated the Illinois-Chicago Flames 83-82 at the ARC in Valparaiso.
Brandon McPherson added 15 points as the Crusaders are back to .500 overall at 13-13 and improve to 8-6 in the Horizon League.
Jeremy Buttell led the Flames with a game-high 25 points with Robo Kreps finishing with 17 as UIC drops to 6-18, 2-12 in the Horizon and 0-12 on the road this season.
Valpo hits the road to face the Cleveland State Vikings on Thursday night.
