(SALT LAKE CITY, UT) - The Butler Bulldogs face top-seeded Syracuse this evening in a West Regional semifinal game of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament at Salt Lake City.
The fifth-seeded Bulldogs enter tonight's contest riding the nation's longest winning streak at 22 games.
It is the third time in the last eight years and the fourth time overall that Butler has reached the Sweet 16. They have yet to advance to the Elite Eight.
The Dogs made it to Salt Lake City with wins over UTEP and Murray State in the first two rounds.
The Orange are in the regional semifinals for the 19th time in school history.
Syracuse has been led in the tournament by junior forward Wes Johnson.
Johnson has averaged 25 points and ten rebounds in wins over Vermont and Gonzaga.
