(NEW ORLEANS, LA) - The NCAA Tournament gets underway this afternoon with the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame taking on the Monarchs of Old Dominion in New Orleans.
The Irish are the number-six seed in the South Region and enter the tournament with a 23-11 record. ODU is the number-eleven seed.
The Monarchs are champions of the Colonial Athletic Association and are 26-8 on the season.
Today's game marks the second time Notre Dame and Old Dominion have met in men's basketball.
The Irish beat the Monarchs 67-62 in an NIT game in South Bend in 1984.
