Bronson Arroyo pitched into the seventh, allowing two runs on six hits to improve to 1-2.
Roy Oswalt took the loss for Houston to fall to 2-3.
It was just the second time in his career that Oswalt suffered a loss to the Reds, dropping his all-time record versus Cincinnati to 23-2.
He had never lost to the Reds in Houston as his only other setback came at Great American Ball Park in April of 2006.
