(PITTSBURGH, PA) - Jay Bruce hit his first two home runs of the season, but it was not enough as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Cincinnati Reds 5-3 to complete a three-game series sweep.
Pittsburgh did all if its damage off Reds starter Bronson Arroyo in the fourth as Ryan Chuch had an RBI single, Bobby Crosby was hit by an Arroyo pitch with the bases loaded and Jason Jaramillo capped the inning with a three-run double.
Bruce, who has struggled this season, hit his first homer off Pirates starter Paul Maholm in the fifth and added another solo shot off Octavio Dotel in the ninth as the Reds lose their fourth game in a row.
Maholm got the win to even his record at 1-1 while Arroyo falls to 0-1.
