(NEW YORK, NY) - The Chicago Cubs snapped a four-game losing streak with a 9-3 win over the New York Mets.
Carlos Silva improved to 2-0, allowing a run on two hits over six innings.
Rod Barajas touched Silva for a solo homer in the second before the Cubs responded with single runs in the third fourth and fifth innings.
Alfonso Soriano helped blow the game open with a two-run homer in the seventh and Marlon Byrd added a two-run single in the ninth and finished with three runs batted in.
Oliver Perez took the loss for New York to fall to 0-2.
