(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Rookie third baseman David Freese hit his first major league home run and drove in six runs as the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the Atlanta Braves 10-4 at Busch Stadium.
Freese's six RBI were the most for a Cardinals rookie since at least 1957, when Major League Baseball established rookie qualifications.
Adam Wainwright pitched six innings, allowing three runs to improve to 4-1.
Braves rookie Jason Heyward hit his fifth home run of the season as the Braves dropped their ninth-straight game.
The Redbirds have won five in a row as they sweep the four-game series with the Braves.
