(ATLANTA, GA) - Rookie Jason Heyward hit a three-run home run in his first Major League plate appearance to key the Atlanta Braves’ 16-5 rout of the Chicago Cubs.
Yunel Escobar drove in a career-high five runs with Heyward finishing with four RBI as the Braves pounded Cubs starter Carlos Zambrano for eight earned runs before Zambrano was lifted with one out in the bottom of the second inning.
Marlon Byrd hit a three-run homer in his Chicago debut with Aramis Ramirez adding a two-run shot for the Cubs.
