Last updated on Thursday, April 15, 2010

(WASHINGTON, DC) - The Indiana Pacers closed out their worst season in 21 years with a 98-97 loss to the Washington Wizards.

Washington led by as many as eleven points in the first quarter before the Pacers came back.

The Blue and Gold led by as many as 14 points in the third quarter and had a six-point advantage entering the final period.

The Wizards chipped away and finally took the lead on Cedric Jackson's three-pointer with 1:31 left. Neither team would score the rest of the way.

Indiana had a chance to win the game at the end, but Danny Granger's shot at the horn rimmed out.

Andray Blatche led Washington with 26 points with Javale McGee adding 14 as the Wizards end the season at 26-56.

Roy Hibbert had a career-high 29 points with Granger finishing with 17 as the Pacers wind up at 32-50.

It is the worst record for Indiana since the 1988-89 season, when the Pacers went 28-54.
