(FORT WORTH, TX) - A persistent drizzle at Texas Motor Speedway forced the postponement of both Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Race and Nationwide Series Race to this afternoon.
Rain and a forecast for misty conditions led NASCAR to call the Sprint Cup race about an hour and fifteen minutes after its scheduled start time.
They will now try to get the Sprint Cup race underway at noon eastern time today with Columbus' Tony Stewart on the pole.
The Nationwide Series race is expected to start at five o'clock eastern time this afternoon.
The forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high in the mid to upper sixties today in Fort Worth.
