(TORONTO, ON) - Ricky Romero took a no-hitter into the eighth as the Toronto Blue Jays knocked off the Chicago White Sox 4-2.
Romero hit AJ Pierzynski with a pitch leading off the eighth inning and Alex Rios broke up the no-hitter with a two-run home run.
That would be the only hit the Sox would get all night.
The Jays scored twice in the third on a Vernon Wells RBI double and a Lyle Overbay single.
Edwin Encarnacion made it 4-0 Toronto with a two-run double in the fifth.
Romero would get through the eighth, allowing two runs on one hit with a pair of walks and twelve strikeouts to improve to 1-0.
White sox Starter Gavin Floyd took the loss to fall to 0-1.
