(NEW YORK, NY) - Johan Santana pitched into the seventh inning to get the victory as the New York Mets defeated the Chicago Cubs 5-2.
Santana allowed a run on eight hits and struck out five in six and-a-third innings of work to improve to 2-1.
The game was scoreless until the sixth when New York scored four times.
David Wright had an RBI double, Jeff Francoeur followed with a run-scoring single and two more runs came home on a fielding error by Chicago second baseman Mike Fontenot.
Starter Tom Gorzelanny took the loss to fall to 0-2 as the Cubs dropped three of four in the series.
