(MIAMI GARDENS, FL) - Joey Votto and Brandon Phillips hit two-out, RBI singles in the top of the eleventh inning as the Cincinnati Reds defeated the Florida Marlins 10-8.
Cincinnati jumped out to an early 6-1 lead on the strength of three-run homers from Jonny Gomes and Ryan Hanigan.
They led 8-5 in the eighth inning when Florida's Cody Ross tied the game with a three-run shot off Cincinnati reliever Logan Ondrusek.
That set up the two-out rally in the eleventh as the Reds won their third game in a row and their second straight over the Marlins in extra innings.
