(PITTSBURGH, PA) - Bronson Arroyo pitched seven-plus strong innings to lead the Cincinnati Reds past the Pittsburgh Pirates 2-1.
Arroyo allowed a run on five hits to even his record at 2-2. Laynce Nix put Cincinnati ahead in the with an RBI double in the fourth.
Scott Rolen gave the reds an insurance run in the top of the eighth with another run-scoring double.
Cincinnati would need that run as Arroyo threw a hanging curve ball to Ronny Cedeno who lined it down the left field line for his third home run of the season.
Francisco Cordero walked a pair of batters in the ninth but worked out of the jam to pick up his eleventh save.
The Reds have won three games in a row.
