(CHICAGO, IL) - Ryan Dempster and Carlos Marmol combined on a three-hit shutout as the Chicago Cubs blanked the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-0.
The game was scoreless until the sixth when the Cubs scratched an unearned run off LA Starter Clayton Kershaw on Derrek Lee's RBI single.
Lee would give Chicago some insurance in the eighth when he hit a two-run blast off Ramon Troncoso.
Dempster went eight innings, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out seven to improve to 3-4.
Marmol pitched a perfect ninth, striking out two to pick up his tenth save.
Kershaw took the loss to drop to 4-3.
