(KANSAS CITY, MO) - Asdrubal Cabrera snapped out of an 0-for-16 skid, driving home the first runs of the game as the Cleveland Indians blanked the Royals 4-0 on a rainy night in Kansas City.
Cabrera hit a two-run single off Royals starter Kyle Davies in the top of the fifth inning to put Cleveland on top.
Fausto Carmona pitched five shutout innings to get the win, improving to 4-1 on the season.
Carmona left the game after the contest was stopped by a 70-minute rain delay following the bottom of the fifth.
After the delay, Russell Branyan hammered a two-run homer off reliever Brad Thompson to give Cleveland some insurance.
The Indians have won three in a row as they go for a series sweep this afternoon.
Kansas City has lost seven games in a row.
