(PHILADELPHIA, PA) - Kyle Kendrick pitched seven strong innings to get his first win of the season as the Philadelphia Phillies blanked the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0.
Placido Polanco put Philadelphia ahead to stay with a two-run homer off Brad Penny in the bottom of the fourth.
Shane Victorino added a solo shot off Penny in the sixth and Greg Dobbs capped the scoring with an RBI double in the seventh.
Kendrick allowed six hits, walking two and striking out three to even his record at 1-1.
Penny gave up three runs on five hits in six-plus innings of work, falling to 3-2 on the season.
