(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - There was one major incident at the speedway on Tuesday as EJ Viso spun in turn one and backed it hard into the safer barrier in the final minutes of practice.
Viso was removed from his car by the safety crew and taken to the ambulance on a stretcher.
He was awake and alert and transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis complaining of back pain.
It was not a good day for KV Racing Technologies as Viso's teammate, Mario Moraes, lost control of his car exiting the pits.
Moraes spun on the warm-up lane and made contact with his rear wing against the inside retaining wall.
The car was not severely damaged but Moraes' car did not return to the track following the incident.
