(CHICAGO, IL) - Xavier Nady’s RBI single in the bottom of the eighth gave the Chicago Cubs a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Pirates scored all three of their runs in the second inning on an RBI single by Bobby Crosby and a two-run single by Lastings Milledge.
Alfonso Soriano doubled home Chicago's first run in the second and the Cubs tied the game in the seventh when Mike Fontenot scored on a wild pitch and Derrek Lee drove Kosuke Fukudome home with a single.
That set up Nady's game-winner off Pittsburgh reliever DJ Carrasco as the Cubs avoided being swept in the three-game series.
