(SAN DIEGO, CA) - The St. Louis Cardinals salvaged a win in San Diego, defeating the Padres 8-3 to avoid a three-game series sweep.
Albert Pujols ended his RBI drought, hammering a solo homer off San Diego starter Wade Leblanc and driving in three runs.
Pujols had gone eleven games without a run batted in.
Brendan Ryan also had a big game, going 4-for-4 with his first home run of the season and three runs scored.
PJ Walters pitched five shutout innings to pick up his first major league win.
Leblanc took the loss to fall to 2-3.
