(CINCINNATI, OH) - Joey Votto’s three-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning vaulted the Cincinnati Reds past the Chicago Cubs 5-3.
Reds starter Mike Leake took a 2-0 lead into the seventh when Marlon Byrd scored on a wild pitch and Tyler Colvin gave Chicago the lead with a two-run homer.
Votto's shot off Cubs starter Ryan Dempster made Leake the winner as the rookie out of Arizona State improves to 3-0.
Dempster took the loss to fall to 2-3 as the Cubs dropped two of three in the series.
