(CHICAGO, IL) - The Chicago Cubs avoided a three-game sweep at home by pounding the Los Angeles Angels 12-1.
Carlos Zambrano was the beneficiary of the offensive outburst, allowing a run on eight hits over seven innings to improve to 3-5.
Derrek Lee hit a two-run double and finished with four RBI while Geovany Soto hit a solo homer off Angels starter Joe Saunders, who took the loss to fall to 5-8.
Los Angeles had a four-game winning streak snapped.
