(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - Izod IndyCar Series driver Ryan Hunter-Reay had successful surgery on his left thumb on Monday and will drive in Saturday night’s race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Hunter-Reay suffered a ligament injury to the thumb during a pit stop in Sunday's Indianapolis 500.
That was before he was involved in the frightening last-lap accident with Mike Conway that allowed Dario Franchitti to win the race under yellow.
Conway suffered leg and back injuries that will keep him out of action for at least three months.
Dreyer and Reinbold Racing has not said who will drive Conway's number-24 car this weekend at Texas.
