(PHILADELPHIA, PA) - The Philadelphia Phillies scored two runs in the bottom of the first and Jamie Moyer made it stand up as the Phillies edged the Cleveland Indians 2-1.
Ryan Howard put the Phillies on the board with an RBI single off Cleveland starter Mitch Talbot with Jayson Werth adding a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning.
Moyer pitched eight innings, allowing a run on two hits to get the win and improve to 8-6.
Russell Branyan accounted for Cleveland's offense, hitting a solo homer off Moyer in the second.
Talbot allowed both Philadelphia runs in seven innings of work to take the loss, dropping to 7-6.
