(UNDATED) - In pro basketball, the Indiana Pacers took Fresno State small forward Paul George with the tenth overall pick in last night’s NBA draft.
George is six-foot-eight and averaged just under 17 points as a sophomore with the Bulldogs last season.
George is described as a player with potential who would be more of a project than somebody who would contribute immediately.
In the second round, Indiana took Cincinnati freshman guard Lance Stephenson with the 40th pick and Florida State senior forward Ryan Reid with the 57th selection.
They later traded Reid to Oklahoma City for Magnum Rolle and cash considerations.
Rolle was the number-51 pick by the Thunder and is a 6-10, 220-pound forward out of Louisiana Tech.
Butler's Gordon Hayward was the top Indiana player selected in last night's draft.
Hayward went with the number nine pick to the Utah Jazz.
Former Indiana Hoosier Jordan Crawford, who finished his college career at Xavier, went to New Jersey with the 27th pick but was later traded to Atlanta for the draft rights to Texas forward Damian James.
Notre Dame's Luke Harangody went to the Boston Celtics with the 52nd pick.
