(TORONTO, ON) - The Toronto Blue Jays avoided being swept at home by St. Louis as they blanked the Cardinals 5-0 to snap a three-game skid.
The Jays jumped on Redbirds starter Adam Wainwright early, scoring all five runs in the first three innings.
Vernon Wells hit a pair of home runs and drove in three with Adam Lind adding a solo shot off Wainwright, who falls to 10-5.
Brandon Morrow threw eight shutout innings for Toronto, allowing five hits while striking out eight and walking one to even his record at 5-5.
