(CHICAGO, IL) - Paul Konerko’s two-run homer with two out in the bottom of the eighth inning gave the Chicago White Sox a 2-0 victory over the Atlanta Braves.
The Sox have won nine games in a row after completing the three-game series sweep.
Gavin Floyd and Derek Lowe hooked up in a pitchers duel with each starter throwing seven shutout innings before their teams went to the bullpen.
Takashi Saito took over for Lowe in the eighth and allowed a leadoff single to Juan Pierre.
After getting two outs, Saito gave up the game-winner to Konerko, who has hit 18 home runs this season.
