(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals snapped a six-game losing streak against the Los Angeles Dodgers winning 7-1 Thursday night at Busch Stadium.
Chris Carpenter retired the first seven batters to open the game until Andre Ethier homered in the fourth inning for Los Angeles.
Carpenter did go on to retire the next eight batters to improve to 6-0 with a 1.77 ERA when facing the Dodgers.
With the win St. Louis pulls within a half-game of the NL Central leading Cincinnati Reds.
