(CHICAGO, IL) - John Danks fired a two-hitter to record his first career shutout as the Chicago White Sox blanked the Los Angeles Angels 1-0 to complete a four-game series sweep.
The Sox scored the game's only run in the bottom of the first when Juan Pierre was hit by a pitch, advanced to third on Alex Rios' double and scored on a sacrifice fly by Paul Konerko.
Danks held the Angels hitless until the seventh when Reggie Willits led off the inning with a single.
Ervin Santana went the distance for Los Angeles, allowing three hits as he falls to 8-7.
Danks improves to 8-7 with the win as Chicago trails first-place Detroit by a half-game in the AL Central.
