(NEW YORK, NY) - Albert Pujols hit an RBI single with two out in the top of the 13th inning as the St. Louis Cardinals got past the New York Mets 8-7.
Matt Holliday homered and drove in three while starting pitcher Jaime Garcia had a two-run single as the Cardinals built a 7-2 lead before the Mets came back.
Angel Pagan hit a two-run homer and Ike Davis hit a game-tying, two-run single to force extra innings.
With the win, the Cardinals maintain their first-place tie with Cincinnati in the NL Central.
