(KANSAS CITY, MO) - Jose Guillen hit a three-run homer and Billy Butler added a solo shot and drove in two as the Kansas City Royals held off the Chicago White Sox 7-6.
KC built a 7-1 lead heading to the eighth when the Sox mounted a comeback.
Juan Pierre hit an RBI single to left and Brent Lillibridge followed with a three-run triple.
Lillibridge would score on an Alex Rios groundout to bring Chicago to within a run.
Joakim Soria pitched the ninth and survived a scare when Guillen hauled in Mark Kotsay's drive to the fence.
Zack Greinke allowed six runs on ten hits over eight innings to pick up the win, improving to 4-8.
Jake Peavy took the loss to fall to 7-6.
