(ST. LOUIS, MO) - Kyle Lohse’s first start since forearm surgery wasn’t a good one as the Chicago Cubs defeated the St. Louis cardinals 9-7, knocking the Cards off the top of the NL Central.
Derek Lee homered on his first two at-bats in the game.
Albert Pujols hit another milestone, becoming the first player to hit 30 home runs in his first ten seasons after a knocking one to center in the first inning.
The Cards started a rally in the ninth inning and got within two runs before Steven Hill grounded out to end the game.
