(CINCINNATI, OH) - Colby Rasmus celebrated his 24th birthday by hitting a grand slam as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-1 to regain sole possession of first place in the NL Central.
Rasmus broke open a scoreless game by hitting a Bronson Arroyo pitch over the center field wall with the bases loaded.
Adam Wainwright threw seven shutout innings, allowing two hits to improve to 17-6.
Joey Votto drove home Cincinnati's lone run with an RBI single in the eighth.
With the win, the Cardinals sweep the three-game series and take a one-game lead over the Reds in the division.
