(PHOENIX, AZ) - The Cincinnati Reds completed a three-game sweep in Phoenix, beating the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-5.
Ramon Hernandez hit a three-run home run and Jay Bruce followed with a solo shot in the fourth as the Reds took a 4-0 lead.
They would build the lead to 9-1 before Arizona scored four runs in the eighth, three scoring on a Chris Young home run.
Rookie Travis Wood pitched into the seventh inning, allowing a run on four hits to move to 4-1 on the season.
With the win, the Reds build their largest lead in the NL Central this season, taking a three and-a-half-game advantage over the idle St. Louis Cardinals.
