(DAYTONA BEACH, FL) - Clint Bowyer has been docked 150 points and his crew chief suspended for six races after his winning car at Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at New Hampshire failed an inspection at NASCAR’s research and development center in North Carolina.
Bowyer was second in the Sprint Cup Standings following Sunday's win.
The penalty drops him two twelfth, last among the Chase for The Sprint Cup competitors.
Crew Chief Shane Wilson was also fined 150-thousand dollars.
The Sprint Cup Series races at Dover this weekend.
