(MILWAUKEE, WI) - The Cincinnati Reds could not take advantage of St. Louis’ loss as they were bombed by the Milwaukee Brewers 13-1.
Casey McGehee hit a pair of two-run doubles, Craig Counsell hit a three-run home run and Corey Hart added a two-run homer and drove in three as the Brewers avoided being swept in the three-game series.
Randy Wolf allowed a run over six innings to get the win, improving to 13-11.
Johnny Cueto lasted just an inning and a third for Cincinnati, allowing eight earned runs on eight hits and three walks in dropping to 12-6.
With the Cardinals' loss in Pittsburgh, the Reds' magic number for clinching the NL Central drops to three.
