(ST. LOUIS, MO) - PJ Walters threw seven shutout innings as the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1.
Walters gave up three hits in improving to 2-0.
Allen Craig, who got the start at first base as Albert Pujols and many of the Cardinals' stars were given the day off after being eliminated from playoff contention on Tuesday, hit his fourth home run of the season.
Aaron Miles and Bryan Anderson added RBI singles for St. Louis.
Neil Walker drove in the lone Pittsburgh run with a sacrifice fly in the ninth.
