(ST. LOUIS, MO) - The St. Louis Cardinals are still alive in the NL Central race thanks to a 6-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Matt Holliday homered and drove in three runs and Albert Pujols added an RBI single as the Cardinals kept Cincinnati's magic number for clinching the division at one.
The Reds were off on Monday night.
St. Louis scored the go-ahead run in the seventh when Pittsburgh shortstop Ronny Cedeno made an errant throw on Allen Craig's grounder allowing Matt Pagnozzi to score.
Pedro Alvarez homered and drove in two runs for the Pirates.
