(SAN DIEGO, CA) - Chris Young and four relievers combined on a four-hit shutout as the San Diego Padres blanked the Chicago Cubs 3-0 to snap a three-game losing streak.
Chase Headley put the Padres up to stay with a run-scoring infield single in the second.
Ryan Ludwick scored San Diego's second run on a wild pitch in the fourth by Cubs starter Randy Wells.
David Eckstein capped the scoring with an RBI double in the fifth.
Young, who has spent most of the season on the disabled list with a shoulder injury, gave up three hits in his five innings of work to improve to 2-0.
Wells took the loss, dropping to 8-14.
