(PITTSBURGH, PA) - The Pittsburgh Pirates made it five wins in a row with an 11-6 victory over the struggling St. Louis Cardinals.
Pedro Alvarez hit a two-run homer and drove in four with John Bowker adding a solo shot and driving in two for the Pirates.
Charlie Morton pitched six innings, allowing two runs on four hits to pick up his first major-league win since May Fifth.
Rookie Daniel Descalso had a two-run double for the Cardinals, who have lost nine of 13 to draw closer to elimination in the NL Central race.
