(DENVER, CO) - Cincinnati’s lead over St. Louis in the NL Central is down to six games as the Reds lost to the Colorado Rockies 10-5.
Cincinnati jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the third with Jonny Gomes capping the big inning with a two-run single.
The Rockies scored four times in the bottom of the third with Troy Tulowitzki tying the game with a two-run triple.
Tulowitzki would give Colorado the lead for good in the fifth when he launched a solo shot deep to left off reds reliever Bill Bray.
Ubaldo Jiminez struggled, but picked up his 18th win of the season, allowing four runs on seven hits while walking six and striking out eight.
Cincinnati left 14 runners on base.
