(CINCINNATI, OH) - The Cincinnati Reds’ lead in the NL Central is a season-best eight games over St. Louis.
The Reds beat the Milwaukee Brewers 6-1 to complete a sweep of the three-game series.
Milwaukee jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the fifth on an RBI single by starting pitcher Chris Narveson.
Cincinnati exploded for six runs in the seventh with Miguel Cairo putting the reds on the board with an RBI double.
Pinch-hitter Ryan Hanigan gave Cincinnati the lead for good with a three-run home run off reliever todd Coffey and Scott Rolen closed the big inning with a two-run single.
Aroldis Chapman, making his second major league appearance, picked up his first big league win.
The Cuban lefthander threw a perfect inning, striking out two and reaching 103 miles per hour on the stadium's radar gun twice.
