(CHICAGO, IL) - Randy Wells threw seven and two-thirds shutout innings as the Chicago Cubs blanked the San Francisco Giants 2-0.
Kosuke Fukudome gave the Cubs the only run they would need when he homered off Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez in the third inning.
Chicago would get some insurance in the fifth when Koyie Hill led off with a double, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on catcher Buster Posey's throwing error.
Wells allowed six hits to improve to 8-13.
Sanchez took the loss to fall to 11-9.
