(NEW YORK, NY) - The Texas Rangers have taken a 2-1 lead in the American League Championship Series with another dominating pitching performance by southpaw Cliff Lee.
Lee struckout 13 in eight overpowering innings and Josh Hamilton hit a two-run home run in the first inning of the Rangers 8-0 victory over the New York Yankees.
It was a 2-0 game before the Rangers broke it open with six runs in the ninth.
Lee is 7-0 with a 1.26 ERA in eight postseason starts in his career.
Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday night in New York, Tommy Hunter gets the call for the Rangers going against A.J. Burnett who is making his first postseason start for the Yankees.
