(MUNCIE, IN) - Stan Parrish is out as head football coach at Ball State.
Athletic Director Tom Collins announced Parrish's firing Tuesday, saying it was time for "a change in direction".
Parrish went 6-19 with the Cardinals, including a loss in the 2009 GMAC Bowl after replacing Brady Hoke as head coach.
School officials say the search for a new coach will begin immediately.
Eddie Faulkner, who served as offensive coordinator on parrIsh's staff, will serve as interim head coach.
