(LAS VEGAS, NV) - Kwadzo Ahelegbe scored 24 points to lead the Northern Iowa Panthers to a 67-61 win over the Indiana Hoosiers in the opening round of the Las Vegas Classic.
Johnny Moran finished with 15 points and Jake Koch added eleven as the Panthers won their fourth game in a row to improve to 8-3.
Christian Watford scored 23 points and grabbed ten rebounds to lead IU with Derek Elston adding 19 points as the Hoosiers fall to 9-3.
Indiana faces Colorado tonight in the consolation game.
The Buffaloes lost to Steve Alford's New Mexico lobos 89-76 in their first-round game last night.
